  Course Description

GE 110 is a single course in engineering graphics that is intended to meet the drafting requirements of many students transferring to various local universities.

It covers the following:

Manual drafting

bullet

Design

bullet

Descriptive Geometry and

bullet

Computer Aided Drafting

The bulleted topics above will include such things as freehand sketching, orthographic projection, section and auxiliary views, and geometric construction. The descriptive geometry part of the class will take us into the area of design, and we’ll use our computers to produce a number of drawings using AutoCAD software.

  Equipment Required:

          Two triangles – 45 and 30-60

            Compass

            Dividers

            Eraser

            Drafting tape

            Scales (I may supply these)

            Erasing shield

            Drawing pencils:  HB or H or F (#2 may be used), 2H, 3H 

            Sandpaper paddle

            Brush (A cheap paint brush will work)

            Cleaning powder or pad

            Ames lettering guide

            French curves ( two)

            Templates:  circle, ellipse, etc.

  Important Dates

            Sept 14(Fri) Last day to drop without a “w”.

            Nov 21(Wed) Last day to drop with a “w”.

            Dec 12(Wed)  Last day of class!

Note: Date for Final Exam will be announced in class.
